Privacy Policy

Effective September 17, 2026.

This site is run by the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin (PAAW) as part of the Wisconsin No Surprises Act campaign. This page explains what information the site collects, what it is used for, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version

  • If you sign up, we keep your name, email address, and ZIP code so we can send you campaign updates.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. It sets cookies.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever.
  • You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information at any time.

What we collect when you sign up

The signup form asks for your first name, last name, email address, and ZIP code. All four are required. We do not ask for a phone number.

Along with what you type, the form records:

  • Which version of the consent wording you agreed to, so we can show later exactly what you were told when you signed up.
  • How you found the site: any campaign tags on the link you followed, the site that referred you, and the page you arrived on. This tells us which of our efforts are reaching people.
  • Your approximate country, taken from your connection, and the type of browser you used. These help us spot abuse and keep the form working.

To limit automated abuse, the site also keeps a temporary, one-way hashed record of the network address that submitted the form. The address itself is not stored, the hash cannot be turned back into it, and the record is discarded after a short window.

What we do with it

  • Send you updates about the campaign by email.
  • Understand where supporters are, using ZIP code.
  • Understand which outreach is working, using the campaign tags and referrer.
  • Keep the site running and protect it from abuse.

That is the whole list. We do not use your information to build a profile of you or to target you with advertising.

Who can see it

Your information is held by PAAW and the people working on this campaign on its behalf. It is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts the site and its database.

We use an email service to send campaign updates. That provider has not yet been selected. Before the first email goes out, this policy will be updated to name it.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, and we do not share it with other organizations for their own use.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site, which pages they read, and roughly where they come from. To do that, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and assigns your browser a random identifier. Google receives this data and processes it on our behalf.

We have turned off the Google Analytics settings that would share this data with Google's advertising systems or use it to personalize ads. Analytics data is kept by Google for up to 14 months and then deleted.

If you would rather not be counted, Google offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on every site: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking cookies in your browser settings also works.

What we do not do

  • No advertising pixels from Facebook, X, or anyone else are installed on this site.
  • We do not track you across other websites.
  • We do not buy information about you from anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep your signup information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the campaign ends and the list is no longer needed. Analytics data follows the Google retention period above.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe. Every email we send will include an unsubscribe link. Until the first email goes out, contact us using the details below and we will remove you.
  • Ask what we hold. Contact us and we will tell you.
  • Ask us to delete it. Contact us and we will.

We will respond to any of these requests within 30 days.

Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will remove the record.

Changes to this policy

If the way we handle information changes, this page changes with it and the effective date at the top is updated. If we ever add a service that materially changes what happens to your information, such as an email provider or an advertising tool, it will be named here before it is used.
